This textbook is recommended for Community College year one. It is appropriate for Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Law and History majors. The Introduction is extensive and contains instructional and supplementary material that covers the central theme of the textbook. The book is well-indexed which increases its value as a reference. The Glossary is well-organized and appropriately supports the comprehension of this level of learners. Chapter 8, on the implementation and impact of judicial policies, is particularly strong. This is recommended as a supplementary reference prior to law school.
